Results from clinical trials have shown that cannabis-based medicines can help relieve muscle movement for people suffering from motor neuron disease.
This study has been published in the journal The Lancet Neurology, suggest that a chemical compound – delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol THC and cannabidiol (THC-CBD) – derived from the cannabis sativa plant which is given as additional treatments may help relieve the symptoms of flexibility (strict or not stiff muscles).
Spasticity is a progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells that control muscle movement. It is a major cause of disability and reduced quality of life in people with motor neurone disease.
